Sustainable Development Audits
For use by all Dorset educational establishments

All Dorset education establishments are invited to sign up to the ESD Award scheme - this means agreeing to take part and improve your practice. We have developed a points system by which we/you can clearly evaluate your progress. Effective establishments will be awarded a Dorset ESD logo, for use as required. Establishments achieving a maximum score will also be given a Dorset ESD award in recognition of their status as county beacon sites for ESD.

Below you will find two forms:
Form One. This audit provides a checklist for site managers of educational establishments other than schools i.e.. F.E, adult education, youth centres etc. In committing ourselves to more sustainable practice we rely on the commitment of all staff and managers. Please involve all of your staff in the audit.
Form Two.
This form is for the use of schools only.
In promoting Education for Sustainable Development, we rely particularly heavily on the commitment and goodwill of all of our schools. This audit provides a checklist for you to assess your contribution to ESD. Please involve all of your staff, governors and pupils.

Both forms are divided into 5 sections with four key indicators in each. Please click one checkbox for each statement that closely defines your current status. Please be honest! If you are doing something in addition to these indicators or you would like to comment on The Dorset ESD Award scheme please use the comments boxes above each form. In addition schools can let us know what they're doing through the Bulletin Board.
