An afternoon of mixed  feelings - by St Ives Swimmers

When we were on the coach we were very nervous. When we saw St.Marys we felt a bit worried because they beat us at football. We were all very excited. When we were getting changed Kiz said he hoped we might win. We had some fun when we were getting changed. We felt nervous when we were waiting for the races to start, but we were proud when we closed the gap on the swimmers ahead of us. We were disappointed when we didn't win.

When we were on the coach we felt really worried and nervous. When we were there we felt a little bit better. On our practice section we felt 100 % better. On our first race we were really scared. But on our last race we were so tired that we could hardly swim. When we heard the bad news that we hadn’t won we were so shocked and sad that the boys began to argue on the coach. We felt better when we reminded ourselves that we were the smallest team which took part but we felt awful when we heard about Robert hurting his finger in the door.

Well done to Hampreston - winners of the 2003 Cluster Swimming Gala
