At St Mary's our
classes all have animal names; koalas, raccoons, pandas, lions and
tigers, we are in the lions and tigers classes which are a mix of year 3
and year 4 children. We love our school building as it is not too big
and not too small, it is also very very, old. Mrs Pike said it was built
in 1896. Out side on our playground wall we have a fabulous St. Mary's
mosaic which we all helped to make. All the teachers are very nice and
they help us to learn lots.
In year 4 you get to go to
Springhead, which is a nice place with really good food. We spend
2 nights away from our families and have to walk 7 miles up Gold Hill.
Every class in the school looks forward to their turn.
Last year we created a magnificent
tree trail, the whole school helped to plant 60 trees around the edge of
our field. Our favourite tree was the cork screw hazel.
We have a
computer suite with 15 computers in it, we love to use them to visit the
internet and make up stories. We also have some laptops that we can use
in our classrooms. Each classroom has an interactive white board,
these are big and colourful.
The Christmas party is wicked, you
get to eat hot dogs and big fat cheese rolls. There are party poppers
and then a clown and Father Christmas come to visit.

St. Ives is a great place for
learning and having fun. We have a computer suite, a adventure play
ground, a large field and a swimming pool which is cold and sometimes
warm.
We have carousel time when we go round to each activity, we do maths and
R.E, games, art and ICT. I really like carousel time. We sometimes have
school trips and in year 4 we get to go to Liesen house where we stay
for 3 nights, we all look forward to to our turn.

St. Ives first school is a
friendly place with interactive white boards in every class. The boards
show the entire class what’s happening on the computer. There is a
projector that shows the image from the computer onto the white board.
There are special pens that we can use on the board to controls the
computer. Sometimes we get golden time to use the interactive white
board. My favourite activity is using the Education City web site.

Oakhurst is the best school ever, we have a school
council that helps the P.T.F.A. to raise money to buy new things for the
school, for example the sports equipment we can use in the playground at
break time. The school council has also set up a buddy bench for
people who need a friend.
We have a large studio, were
we learn music and drama. We have drumming lessons in the studio and
practise all our singing and assemblies.
The teachers
are really nice and they help us learn lots of things. They make our
school interesting by setting up different activity days such as the
Environmental day and the Book day where everyone including the staff,
dresses up as a character from a children's book. This year we were all
characters from Roald Dahl's books.
At Oakhurst we
have a gardening club, where we grow flowers to look at and vegetables
to eat. On the field we planted a willow tunnel last year and are
waiting for it to grow. The field has lovely flowers and
trees and is very big. It is a great place to hold sports day,
where we do lots of races and water challenges. The best races are the
toddlers race and the teachers race. We are looking forward to
having our new adventure playground finished.

This is Three Legged Cross First School, we are in year 4 which is
called Owl Base, the other classes are called Badgers,
Squirrels and Hedgehogs. We like coming to school because all our
friends and teachers are good fun.
We have a lovely nature trail which Moors Valley are
helping us to improve. It has a pond where frogs and tadpoles
live. We also have lots of bird boxes.
Every class has an interactive white board, on which
we can learn French, Music, Maths and History. We have a new library in
which there are 15 new computers and lots of new books which we have to
use the junior librarian scanner to sign out the books just like a real
library.
Our school has lots of clubs for us to join in school and after
school. There are clubs for gym, football, sewing and reading. We go
swimming at Ferndown leisure centre and now all Owls and Badgers can all
swim in the deep pool.
We raise money for our school by having a disco, a Christmas fair and
a Christmas play. We spend the money on things we need like sports
equipment. We like to help raise money for our school because its
fun and we enjoy the things that Mrs. Turner buys.
