This week has been one of great excitement and enjoyment at St. Ives School. The normal timetable was replaced by one spent learning all about Vikings. There were several visitors to the school and a wide range of drama and art activities were greatly enjoyed by the children. Year 4 were inspired to make an almost life-size long ship that filled their classroom. On Friday Year 3 visited Oakhurst First School to share their work, in particular their masks and drama about the creation story. The walls in Key Stage 1 were filled with the children's long ships, brooches, amulet and rune nameplates. Through their drama education Theatre in Education and Mrs Michelle Guy enables the children to put themselves in the shoes of real Vikings as they acted out different stories. On Thursday the library was 'invaded' by our Viking visitors Steve and Jo Parish. The week proved a great success and memorable to all involved
