Great Green Garden
In the summer holidays 2003 St Marys 1st school won the best in Ferndown competition. As well St Mary’s had new benches. Before the summer holidays we had a gardening club and help from Mrs Winwood and Mrs Stapleton and plants from Mrs Renouf. St Mary’s like their new benches. In the summer we will eat our lunch on them and we’ve got long benches on the wall with plants in between. Now the garden and the benches look wonderful. So thank you for all the people who helped.  By Natalie and Eli.

Teacher Leaves After 12 Years

When years 3 and 4 were leaving Mrs Manville was leaving as well. Mrs Manville was the best teacher in year 3and 4 she helped us a lot. Mrs Manville was the nicest teacher because she helped us to sing a lot of songs and learn new things. Mrs Manville was the coolest, bestest, nicest teacher in the whole school. Mrs Manville sat on her lounger with a drink in her hand and wearing a sun hat and Mr Dixon took a picture and published it in the parish magazine.

The Goblin Man

In July, the children of St. Mary’s first school put on a play called THE GOBLIN MAN.

The Goblin man, who was played by Victoria, started off being very nasty. In the end, he learnt how to be nice. The other was Willow, who was Beardie! The parents made brilliant costumes and the teachers and assistants were superb at face – painting.
Altogether, the play was wonderful and everyone enjoyed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After School Clubs

Children in year 3 and 4 who want to learn to type or play chess can join the new clubs. They will learn to use a computer or a chess board.

They both take place on Tuesday with Miss Grace or Miss Lewis. Keller in Year 4 said "chess club is teaching people how to play." Jessica in Year 4 said "typing is great".
