The New For Old

There are new front doors at the of Oakhurst First School. The doors were made by Marco Glazing.
In the middle of September 2003 two front double glazing doors where sent to Oakhurst First
School. The doors have a electric button on them.
"The new front doors are very good because they keep thieves out," said Ann and Kathryn, two year 4 pupils.
"They are very smart and they stand out," said Maria, another year 4 pupil when asked about the doors.
Mr. Wharton, the year 4 teacher said, "The doors keep the school safe and they look nice too."
It is hoped the new doors will last longer than the old front doors.

PRINTER SHUT DOWN

New printer breaks at Oakhurst a few days after it was bought. Two children from Oakhurst school went to collect the printer. Once they had collected the printer it broke a few days later.
Mr Wharton says, " The printer is most irritating. It has wasted a lot of time by people trying to fix it. Children and teachers have not been able to print out their work."


Mr Becket school deputy was disappointed about a new printer breaking a few days after it was
bought. It is hoped in the future the printer will work properly.

OLD CLOCKS RETIRE FROM OAKHURST FIRST SCHOOL

At Oakhurst first School in West Moors the old clocks have been replaced with 8 new clocks.

The clocks are better because they stand out more. It is hoped that more people will learn to tell the time. Mrs Hunter, a class assistant says, "The new clocks are colourful and easier to tell the time with."
The children at Oakhurst say, "The new clocks are better because they are set at the right time". Now the school will be on time.

THE BELLS ARE RINGING FOR MISS TOVEY

At Oakhurst First School ,the bells were ringing for Miss Tovey because she got married

Miss Tovey, a Reception teacher in the school, got married in Cirencester on the 9th August, when she became Mrs Joyce. Mrs Joyce said, " It was the happiest day of her life."
Some members of staff went and said they had a fantastic time. Mrs Southcombe the school secretary said "Mrs Joyce looked gorgeous. Mr Joyce was very handsome and we enjoyed a happy day." Hattie a pupil thinks "Mrs Joyce is a lovely name and it suits her nicely". All the people at Oakhust wish Mrs Joyce and her husband every happiness.

AMAZING   MAZE

There has been a new maze built at Oakhurst school. The maze was built by Mr Gibbons, the caretaker. He built the maze in the corner of  the field. Melissa in year 4 said, ''I think the maze is  good  am pleased with  the maze." I The children at Oakhurst  take  turns to play on the maze. Perhaps in the future the children will grow up and be adventurers.
