A LONG TRIP TO LEESON!

On October 22nd, year 4 pupils from Three legged cross first school are going to Leeson house for three days. The year 4 are going to it for a learning adventure and for fun. The year 4’s are going to travel by coach. We will go pond dipping and try to catch goldfish and tadpoles. The boys will scare the girls at night and Mrs Ward will hear them and the boys will get told off.

We will have to bring tracksuits, socks, normal clothes, trainers, slippers, night wear, hair brush, bed cover, two pillow covers, tooth brush, tooth paste and shoes . Leeson House is a beautiful, residential building in Swanage with a marvellous garden. The grown ups who are going with are Mrs ward , Mrs Keegan , Mrs Roberts and Andrew

We interviewed Mrs Ward and she said ‘’last time we went to leeson house we went for a long walk and we came back so tired that we went straight to bed.’’

A New Door for Reception!

At the beginning of term some men came to make the Reception door wider at Three Legged Cross First School.

We have ramps by the doors so that Samuels’ wheelchair and walker can get through doors. Samuel is a boy who is in Reception and he has a wheelchair because his legs don’t work properly. Miss Probyn who helps Samuel said "It is not that hard helping Samuel except pushing him on the grass."

Safety at school

A few weeks ago a boy in year 4 slipped off some apparatus in our playground. Now the staff at the school are even more concerned about children’s safety in the playground. The teachers at the school said children in the playground should be safe or it might cause another accident. Josh and Lee

Events go on!

Our harvest festival is taking place on the 16th October. People bring in food and place them on the table. Then we have an open day when the all parents come and watch us do our work. The Harvest Festival is at 10.00 in the morning, the songs we will sing are Autumn Days, Growing, Growing and Oats and Beans and Barley grows. Four year 4’s are going to be saying something. We quoted Rachel and she said "I’m not nervous I’ m not excited I’m just glad I’m doing it".

WE OCCUPY OLD OAKDENE
Every Friday five or six year 4 children go to visit Oakdene old age home for Golden Time. On the 10th October 2003, we drew some trees using charcoal and chalk. The old people did some leaf rubbings using crayons. We cut them out andstuck them on. We also stuck on real leaves, pinecones and berries. Usually we play bingo. When we’re ready to go back to school, we get sweets and ice lollies. One of the old people is called Joyce, she can tell the weather. We think the old people enjoy us playing bingo and drawing the trees.
