Press release given to the Gambian press

The Linford family, Tim, David and Hannah are visiting two schools in The Gambia, the New Jeshwang Lower Basic School and Yundum Primary School to strengthen links between these schools and Burton Bradstock and Thorners schools in Dorset in England. All four schools are involved in a project that links eight West Dorset Primary Schools with schools in The Gambia, Chile and India. Children at each school are writing songs about life in the area they live in, in 2001. Their songs are to be digitally recorded and presented on a C.D.

All profits from the sale of the C.D's will go towards supporting the schools in The Gambia, Chile and India

Tim, David and Hannah are gong to present children at the two schools with introductions from the Dorset children as well as maps and pictures from Dorset. They are hoping to bring back information written by the Gambian children as well as pictures, video and sound recordings that will be used by Dorset children to find out more about their twinned country. They will also record the songs written by the children in The Gambia and bring them back.

These songs will be played at a World Music Week Concert in Bridport on 8th June along with songs from the other countries involved with the project. They will also be added to the final C.D
