Standing quietly on the green
Against the old familiar tree,
I see a common village scene
These things are special to me.

Chorus:
This village is special to me
It’s deep within my heart,
Even when I’m far away
We’ll never grow apart.

Listen to the church bells ring
Children sing in harmony,
Flowers bloom in early spring
These things are special to me.

Chorus:

See the river flowing past
In the park they're playing free,
The roundabout is spinning fast
These things are special to me

Chorus:

Climb the cliffs without a fear
Looking out across the sea,
Watch the sunlight disappear
These things are special to me.

Chorus:

Thinking of our future days
Wondering what lies ahead,
Our lives may change in many ways
This village is special to me.

Chorus:

Song for Dorset

Chorus

Burton is a beautiful place
It puts a smile upon your face,
Dorset may be really small
But where we are there’s room for all.

There’s countryside and wildlife too
Badgers who make footpaths for you,
Rabbits dig in the field around
Jump and leap without a sound.

Go for a walk and seek the deer
Are they wary? Watch them peer.
Hunting foxes seems so cruel
If you kill them you’re a fool.

Chorus

Chesil beach is full of fish
Some of them make a lovely dish,
Dolphins dive and swim about
Shelving waves go in and out.

Seagulls fly and snatch your food
Locals get in a nasty mood,
Jellyfish lie on dusty rocks
Go for a paddle – take off your socks!

Chorus

Harbour Lights was really fun
It was filmed under West Bay sun,
TV stars may come and go
But Dorset is the star of our show.
