The Westbrook Centre

Cluster Schools

DSCN0906.JPG (60756 bytes)When the year six arrived on the Isle of Wight we went to the hall to find out which dormitory we were in. The boys were down in the dunny (the basement). Then we got to our rooms I found that the beds were a bit hard. In the boys area there was a tuck shop. The rooms were quite nice. The showers were really refreshing. We had to go to bed between ten pm and ten thirty pm. We weren’t allowed to get up before seven o’clock . Breakfast was at eight o’ clock and tea was at six. Robert

The day that we arrived at Westbrook centre we had a look around the grounds.  I went in the woods; there were dips with logs piled up in them so that you walk across them to get to the other side of the wood.  In the woods it was quite dark and gloomy.
There was a rope course right next to the wood.  When I went on the rope course the first time it was quite easy although I didn’t make it round,  ifDSCN0907.JPG (62318 bytes) you did make it you would get some points!  The rope course had a wire to walk along; there were ropes to hold on to so you can walk along without falling off.  The second bit was a wire with one rope and you had to walk along with it so you don’t fall off (it’s hard). The third bit was the same but harder. The fourth bit was a bridge thing, that can rock if someone  wobbles it, and the last bit was a zip line.
Later on I went to the swimming pool, it was freezing, but still it was fun.  When we were in the swimming pool we were jumping and diving in, it was brilliant.
There was also a  9 hole golf course but I didn’t play on that, it was mainly the boys that played.  If you wanted to play golf you had to go in pairs.
