Bembridge Windmill

Cluster Schools

On the 26th group A did the hike, but before that we went into a windmill.  The windmill was great!  Long ago it was used to grind grain.  In those days millers and farmeChildren outside Bembridge Windmillrs weren’t best of friends because farmers thought millers were cheaters. The windmill was built on a hill because it is windier there. The windmill works by the sails blown by the wind which moves the tree trunk in the middle which makes the machinDSCN0908.JPG (63142 bytes)es work. Inside the windmill on the top floor you could see holes in the   floor that were meant to be there! On the top floor they would grind the grain which went down lots of floors to the ground floor.
